Medical and Related Expenses limited to $250,000
Provides a worldwide annual travel cover for emergency illness or injury suffered by you while you are outside of Fiji.This is a 12-month cover regardless of the number of trips and countries visited. We will cover the reasonable usual and customary costs incurred outside Fiji for medical treatment including hospitalisation (provided a certificate of treatment is provided by that hospital), surgery, ambulance and paramedic services, diagnostic tests and medicine prescribed by a physician and approved by us. We will also pay for reasonable, usual and customary travel and accommodation expenses incurred by a medical assistant, who because of your severe illness or injury and with the approval of our medical advisers, escorts you back to Fiji. We will also pay burial costs or costs of transporting ashes up to a maximum of $1,500 per policy.
Hospitalisation Cash Income limited to $6,000
Provides for a cash allowance if hospitalisation exceeds 24 hours.
Baggage Loss limited to $10,000
Provides for sudden and unforseen accidental physical loss, theft or damage to your personal baggage.
Baggage Delay limited to $2,000
Provides for emergency purchases of personal essential items that you have missed because of a twelve (12) hour delay or longer, in your baggage arriving at your overseas destination.
Strikes and Hijacks limited to $1,000
Provides for a cash allowance for inconvenience caused by strikes or hijacks, provided that the airline with which you are travelling is delayed for at least twelve (12) hours and proof of strike or hijack is produced from the airline or the relevant authority.
Personal Accident limited to $100,000
Provides cover if an accident happens and you suffer an injury as a result of an accident causing total and permanent disability and as a result you are not able to work for a continuous period of twenty six (26) weeks, and, in the opinion of Colonial, you are not able to ever do any such work. If as a result of an accident you die, the benefit will be paid to the nominated person in your TravelSafe application form.
Travel Cancellation and Interruption limited to $5,000
The cost of additional air fares you incur if you have to cancel or alter your journey once it has started due to unexpected events outside your control. We will also pay reasonable costs if you have to return to Fiji as a result of a life threatening illness, injury or death of your travelling companion, your spouse, defacto, children, grandparents, mother, father, sister, or brother in Fiji.

How to apply

click here to contact or visit your nearest Life & Health Insurance office. A TravelSafe policy can be issued immediately if TravelSafe premiums are paid at any Colonial National Bank Branch
Cancellation Refund
If you have not travelled, you may cancel the policy within the first 28 days of receiving it by:
- Notifying us in writing and
- Returning your policy and Certificate of Insurance.
Upon receipt of the above, Colonial Health Care will refund your paid premium in full. Your Passport must be produced.If you make a claim, which is false or fraudulent in any way, we may avoid your policy or cancel it with immediate effect.

All claims must be accompanied by original documentary evidence.
Eligibility
Cover is only available to Fiji residents whose journey commences and ends in Fiji.
Excess
A $50 excess shall apply.
Exclusions
Pre-existing medical conditions will not be covered.
Personal Liability and Personal Accident Benefits
Extends only to the Single cover and to the adults in the Family cover.
Family
Means a Family group travelling together consisting of not more than 2 adults who are married to each other or cohabiting and up to 6 of their children and/or grandchildren who are more than 6 weeks old and are under the age of 21 years and who are unmarried and are not self-supporting.
Single
Means one person travelling alone who is 16 years old and over and below the age of 75 years.
